Ambury Regional Park

Ambury Regional Park which is only 15km from Auckland City, is not only a working farm, but also an education centre and a birdwatcher's paradise.  It gets its name from the Ambury Milk Company which ran a town milk supply farm on this land from 1893-1965.  This park is not only a favourite amongst birdwatchers and nature lovers, but the many farm animals make it a firm family favourite.  The photographs that follow, were taken on the 2km Foreshore Walk.

Ambury Regional Park is located on ash-covered lava flows from
nearby Mangere Mountain.  Mangere Mountain was the site of a
Maori pa and the area now known as Ambury Regional Park, was
used by the Maori for gardening
